HIRED MUSCLE & HOJP UK TOUR APRIL 2010

Oh my shit, we're hitting the road...

We are now booking a joint tour of the UK from April 1st to April 17th 2010 – can you help us out with a show?

Two artists from the idyllic paradise/creative cesspool of Bletchley. The rowdy, noisy Muscle and the sweet, soulful Player promise a variety show more pleasing than a Butlins cabaret. We play short sets, share equipment, and can both be fully set up at the same time (John Player goes straight thru the PA, the muscle use 2 amps one kit and 2 mics) meaning we can share a slot if need be. We have a sweet Sunn O))) Combo and extension which we are happy to share, and a bass combo... likewise.

We are travelling together in one van, and ask for petrol money, a meal, and a place to sleep...

Thanks

Hired Muscle –
A noisy, clangy three piece. Guitar bass and drums, no effects. Tons of riffs. Short songs. Started in Bletchley, taken to Leeds, now spread out around London. At various points it can be described as poppy/noisy/funky/heavy/fast/slow/mathy. Three excitable gentlemen. Members have also been in or played with: Dawn Chorus, Hank Haint, Action Beat, Rampant Rabbit, Belt Motel, and Pete Taylors guitar orchestra.

“Dirt infused abacus blocks of flexing fun funk skronk rock.” – Domchilla

“Essentially a stripped down NKOTB, if they liked the minutemen – BEST BAND EVER!” – Jon Nash

[Demos have been recorded and scrapped, debut full length album coming Feb/March 2010. Please watch the videos for a more accurate indication of what it sounds like.]

House of John Player
– A young man from Bletchley who drives bands around, makes awesome lo-fi pop gems in his bedroom, and sings with a voice way bigger than you’d expect from such a skinny guy.

“HOUSE OF JOHN PLAYER is the ongoing bedroom/lo-fi project of Dean Spencer -- which has moved through guitars, keyboards, loop pedals, and songs of total charm... somewhere between Animal Collective, Durutti Column, Ariel Pink...” - Allan Harrison (MCP)

"A pretty firework display of sounds and noises which will delight the audience; a good start to the night, if slightly short.worth seeing if he’s in the area." By Quentin

“trapping portions in his looper and over working them with a pacy delivery… really physical, you could literally bottle the energy, cut it from the air ---- like it needed an exit …Wrapped in a slow soak of extended delay…” RottenMeats.com
